1984 Raleigh Quasar 12 Racer. Aero 80s style. Unfortunately there's some rust on the bike and a dent on the down tube. Used as a commuter, every day of the year. Very responsive and rigid. Looking to get some nicer new tyres, with a classic gum wall. Brakes are very dodge. Considering a Retroshift Upgrade. Shifters and front derailleur do no function correctly. Could transfer Selle Anatomica and Honey bar tape when riding for fun in the summer.

Nothing at all on them. Had old Cinelli tape previously but I'm not sure if that's a clue. Could be the Raleigh Alloy Aero as originally came with the bike.

Dents and scrapes are history. I have them in spades on all my bikes, just a sign that they are well loved. I think your shift levers are reversed. That may explain the shifting problems. The brakes are prob. just old, hard pads but don't expect super stops. Just the nature of the beast. Great ride.

Could be that! The front derailleur will change when adjusted and then just stop changing after a ride or two.
You're right though. Great fun to cycle.
