1987 Specialized Rockhopper

I love this bike! I absolutely do not mind it being a bit on the heavy side, the handling is phenomenal, and gets even better with a bit of weight up front. It's been through a few different incarnations, I've some serious sentimental attachment to this one.

Frame:
1987 Specialized Rockhopper, originally blue w/ orange decals (see last pic)

Fork/Headset:
Original fork, Specialized headset (taken from an '86 Rockhopper)

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Sugino XP, Shimano ball bearing bb 120 mm spindle I think

Pedals:
MKS Gamma (slippery AF when wet!)

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
Shimano 10 speed 12-30 cassette, 36-46 Specialized chainrings (sometimes put the 26 granny on for longer gravel rides), cheapo 10-speed chain (TEC)

Derailleurs/Shifters:
Ultegra 6500 derailleurs (Previously XT 7 speed, Deore up front), Shimano XT 7 speed thumbshifters (a bit roughed up, set on friction obviously)

Handlebars/Stem:
Old skool Nitto bullhorn (graciass Pillozzz!) 700 mm wide, at first I had installed a Ritchey Force stem (140 mm) and a flat bar... the bike looked awesome but killed my back, the bullhorn then appeared and my quality of life improved significantly :)

Saddle/Seatpost:
Selle Italia Flite 1990 (don't get these reissues they suck bad, the leather does not hold up to abuse the way older models did, unless you only ride in spandex), decent Kalloy 26.6 (totally stuck, can't adjust my saddle, I try not to think about it)

Brakes:
Rear u-brake is some cheap black anodized monstrosity, front cantilever is the original Shimano (polished up nicely), brake levers are Dia-Compe SS6 (work very nice)

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Ultegra HB-6700 laced with standard 2.0 stainless steel spokes to original Saturae rims (single wall but quite pretty, nice profile), black 16mm brass nipples (don't love the way these look, silver would look better), Kojak 26 x 2.0 (lovely ride)... The orange tires I bought in a street market super cheap, worked ok for trail riding, don't remember the brand but the logo was hideous and I took it off with paint remover

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Same as above

Accessories:
Obligatory spurcycle bell, cheapo conical grips that I absoluely love the feel of, Arundel adjustable bottle cage, vintage yellow Zefal cage, recently installed a Velo Orange porteur front rack, 26 x 1 3/8 chromed fenders, vintage Cat Eye barplugs, Barfly spare tube thingy under the saddle
