Nice tourer!
I've got a question, does shimano sl-bs77 shifter works with XT M-739 rear derailleur in indexed mode or only in friction mode?

mdzu says:
The Shimano SL-BS77 will work with pretty much any 8 or 9 speed Shimano derailleur of that vintage which makes them particularly awesome since there's a lot of great derailleurs available cheaply in the used market. Of course, if you had to, you can run any other assortment of rear derailleur if you are willing to switch it to friction mode.
