"Donatello" Here in Japan its expensive to import parts to it came out costing alot more than I originally wanted to spend. But I want to ride this bike all over the world so I will be upgrading parts as I see fit. Now I've got the headset/cranks done. And I'm working on the wheels. But for now it feels pretty good. I'm liking it so far. Thanks for stopping by.

Nice setup bro ! Loving the gumwall tires. Me personally I like it better with the drops/hoods setup. It sure does kinda suck that parts in Japan costs a lot more :/

after a car ran me off the road and I ate concrete I recuperated for two months. I decided to put the risers back on because I just felt more stable. And its true I really do.
I feel better in traffic and everything. It looks like I might be buying one of my old frames back so I'll be putting the drops on that bike. And just leave this bike as what it was meant to be a comfortable town cruiser. The other one will be my fast bike.
Although this bike is still plenty fast.

But thanks a lot. When I found out that Resist was making the Nomads in 28c I had to have a set.

Looks awesome with the drops now, pretty similar to my setup.

O.o?
You mean the thruster video? Not sure what that has to do with this. I'm in alot of places actually. I've been using this username for about 15 years or more.
Rarely you will get the case that people follow the name from one place to another and troll.
As it seems in your case.
I guess because people shit on your bike you feel the need to come shit on mine. Usually we don't get that too much here on Pedal Room. Too bad actually.
What about my setup is it that you dislike so much? I need to post my my recent pictures still.

Actually my first thought was "Hulk" like incredible hulk because of the green. But someone mentioned that I probably liked Donatello as a kid. I can't believe I missed that. I totally did. And I carry a purple handkerchief around too.

I see you got the v2 chrome fork too... dang you beat me to it... i have to wait till next month, plus they don't produce the first version of the matching green anymore...

yep, actually I forgot to post a picture of the forks thanks for reminding me.
What stem do you recommend. I think the stem I have is too short. What do you use?
Or better yet I'll just go check your build =D

I actually thought long and hard about running those polished wheels like yours BUT I didn't think they would look good with the chrome fork. And I didn't really want to go carbon. Maybe eventually I will. BUT I think my next wheelset will be box type black with gumwall tires.

I have a 100mm deda pista 70degree & a 120mm cinelli pista 65degree .. & a 60mm 55 degree for use with deda chrononero lowrider TT bullhorns.. I live in the windy city so i cange my rinding position often.. its cheaper than muitiple bike builds lol
agree on the white rims & chrome fork. I had the same dilema when I chose the black carbon fork, so I went with the polished wheels. I think you white one will do nicely with you chrome fork. U going with a polishe/chrome headset or stem? and those grande compe hubs are awesome, they just roll & roll & roll. great decision

I've got a black seat and seatpost. So I was thinking to balance out the bike I have a black headset and a black stem. Polished nitto bars.
For a little flair my grips and pedals/straps are purple. Since its my favorite color.
Posted over 12 years ago
the polished bars should balance the chrome fork. The only worry I have is the crank is white. The chainring is black though.
The bike should be finished tomorrow so I'll have pics in the next day or two. So we'll see the finished product soon enough.
The reason I asked about the stem is because I'm thinking the 50mm might be short since I won't be barspinning. And the cockpit on these is tight I've heard. I'll probably get something longer Maybe closer to 80mm

good choice on the black headset and polished nittos.
if you go box type wheels look at the
H+ tb-14's they're light and strong like the Velocity Fusions but boxed shaped instead of arrow shaped.. Kilin also have some boxed shape rims too. I saw some on Retrogreession.com & they're not expensive that's why I like H+ too budget friendly.
ha ha lol our bikes are feternal, like twin opposites!
when you zipp pass some1 they'll be blinded by the sun glare off your bars & fork and then get this flash of color frome your caddence haha "did you see that... its a bird, its a plane... no its bigtoepfer!"

HAHA, yea I've been looking at the TB14s or the Archetypes.
I just need brake compatibility either way. And H+Son is available at my LBS here in Japan.
Posted over 12 years ago
i 4got about the Archetypes.. I hear good thing about them too... so much to choose from...
yeah its tight but in a propper way. just make sure if your stem has a deep angle don't get nittos that have a deem reach to them or it might be too much and hurt your neck when looking up/forward.. that's why I change the stem based on which bar drops I use. the deda elimenti tracks have a long and deep reach like 178mm i think and that whith a deep angle stem like 60/55 degree is painful on long rides... so your doing it right, right out the gate... i learned the hardway hehe!

OH NO! I have a strong dislike for drops. Sorry. LOL.
I used to dig on bullhorns but never used enough of the bar. So I'll a full time riser man now. Its easier on my back. I could never ride the drops my back just hurts too much.
I'm still plenty fast on the risers though. I'm not trying to race anyone. As long as I'm comfortable and get where I'm going 10+ miles later I'm good.

Hey, just managed to get my hands on a heritage lo. I was hoping you knew what size seat clamp these take.

bigtoepfer says:
Should be 31.8. The seatpost is 27.2. The bike should have come with one. My Heritage did and I know the Los came with an even nicer one. But if you got it on the low low, then I could see how it might not have. Perhaps call leader.
Otherwise maybe get a sexy one from Thomson or Paul or something like that.
