Love that you had a custom fixed road bike built. Looks great!
Curious - Why the tire swap?

Thanks! Corsa G+ seem to pick up all kinds of debris and I have had three flats in 750 miles. Rubino G+ Speed lack the puncture protection stip which the Corsa have but I don't seem to get as many flats. The Rubino G+ Speed are also 58 grams/tire less than the Corsa G+ so I saved nearly 1/4 lb.

Very nice, thanks for the reply! I suspected flats as the reason - I've heard similar accounts and they're what kept me from trying these tires. Sounds like you have a nice solution.

Someone asked a question about the S3 tubeset and crank clearance issue. I clicked the link to reply but accidentally removed the comment. Sorry about that.

The Dura Ace crank spider did touch the chainstay slightly. A Dremel was used to round the edges near the chainring bolts and all is well.

Keep in mind that at the time of writing this I've only put 13 miles on the bike. The S3 tubeset is stiff and being used to a springy CroMo Bianchi Pista it was quite surprising. My Pista has a high end Tange steel fork which I'm sure mellows the ride while this bike has an ENVE carbon fork. I did notice cracks in the pavement much more than on the Pista but am 100% sure the tires were overinflated. The tubes feel almost delicate to the touch when holding the frame but not at all when ridden. I did a few uphill sprints to get a feel and the stiffness inspires confidence to go hard. Lowering tire pressure should help dial it in.

thx for the reply Tim. Nice to hear you found a solution to the crankset issue without having to modify the frame. your review of S3 tubeset sounds pretty on point and bet lowering tire pressure gets you the comfort without affecting stiffness. Enjoy!
