Got a sweet deal on this bike. It came with all of it's original components (a full Gipiemme track group), but I've swapped some of it out to preserve them, and make the bike more street friendly.

This thing is clean beyond belief makes my 83 eco pista look like a hood rat. Any idea on how to identify the year on these frames?

Naw, yours still looks tight. I have a serial number around the seat collar of mine. It's faint, but it's there. Mine starts with a 2, so I know it's an 82.

HEY! THAT'S MY BIKE! just kiddind, but it really does look a lot like the one I owned back in Brooklyn in 1983. They're awesome bikes. It was my first fixed gear. I would ride it from Babylon, NY to Brooklyn every Friday to work as a waiter and then back to LI on Monday. All with a tuxedo suit over my arm.

do you know if it's possible to get replacement decals? I picked up an 82/83 pista today but it doesn't have the decals. I've checked eBay and I only see ones that are similar, not exactly the same.
