Finally finished my grocery bike for those hasty shopping runs. Bought the frame about 10 months ago and have been sourcing parts since then. Was gonna go for an all US build, but wasn't able to find certain parts good/aesthetically enough for my liking. So in the end I just built it up with the parts I seemed most fitting. The bike isn't a 100% finished yet tho. Am fitting Continental Grand Prix 4 Season 28C/25C for some extra thoughness and grip. Probably gonna switch the Velo Orange Grand Cru seatpost for a Grand Cru Long Setback one for better position. But I think that's gonna be it for now...
Frame:
Affinity Lo Pro / size M (57) / butted 4130 Cro-Mo
Fork/Headset:
Affinity lugged 1 inch straight / Chris King No Thread 1 inch
Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Sugino 75 165mm / Tange 103mm
Pedals:
Velo Orange Grand Cru Sabot / Hold Fast straps
Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
Factory Five Lattice 47t / Kappstein 17t / Sunrace BMX/Track chain
Saddle/Seatpost:
Brooks Cadmium C17 / Velo Orange Grand Cru 0 Setback
Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Gipiemme Tecno 420 / MACK Track / Continental Ultra Sport 25C
Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Gipiemme Tecno 420 / MACK Track / Continental Ultra Sport 25C
More Info:
Gipiemme Tecno 420's are a re-issue of the Tecno 416's that were produced in the 90's with some minor differences. The 416's were identical to Campagnolo Shamal's, but for some reason far less popular and therefore a lot less were produced then the Shamal's. In any case it didn't have anything to do with quality, because Gipiemme actually produced the Shamal's. A fairly unknown fact..

Love your build man!
Please tell mell: how did you fit the porter+stem and everything? Is the fork 1" threadless? I just don't get it since the stem is 1 1/8" tight? Thanks!

Thx man. Yes the fork 1 inch threadless. I used a Velo Orange 1 inch to 1 1/8" shim to fit it.

Great bike!!! What kind of spokes did you use? DT Swiss new aero or Sapim aero cx (no ray)? Do you have any problems with skidding? Would appreciate a response .... I Try to built an similar wheels. Thx

Hi Matthis, thx man. I used Sapim CX spokes. Haven't had any problems so far and I ride pretty hard. No tricks and careful with curbs obviously tho. Have done over 500km's on the bike. What are your plans? Good luck with building. Cheers!
