i have the magnet on the tri-spoke facing downwards in the pic, it's attached with a black cable tie along with an elastic rubber black hair band to hold it in place, doesn't budge one bit and is virtually invisible. Try it..

That's very odd, how do you fitted a 28c tire on that fork?! It doesn't rub under the fork crown? Mine rubs with some 23c clinchers...
