First try flipping the stem. won't be much but maybe enough. Cutting is forever. My Trek felt way too heads up but flipping it made a big difference in feel. Cheers

For aesthetic looks? I would just use it till it's time to replace them, and only slam my stem if my position requires

If you ever wanna get lower, it's a 2 piece bearing cover.(if you take off the fat one there is flat bearing cover) =)
