Building this bike over a period of about 6 months as my budget allows and great deals can be had. Mostly used parts other than rings, chain, and tires. I wanted to take my favorite frame, the Ironman, and build it up in such a way that I get the modern performance I want and need to compete in the occasional triathlon or just for fun on group rides. I'm trying out a set of DOVAL chainrings, a low cost alternative to Rotor Q-rings or osymmetric. The whole thing is coming together better than I expected when I started this adventure and I can't wait to get some miles on it. Total budget <$1000

Hmm. I'm not sure if I agree with the fork. I never liked biopace so I might be biased towards the rings. but everything else doesn't look too bad.

the fork was a steal at $102 on ebay. I love it and it totally fits the bike.

also the rings have more in common with rotor and osymmetric than biopace
