Now this is a proper track build! Simply beautiful. 1 quick question// since the paul has 44mm fixed chain line, I was wondering if you were having any issue aligning with the Omnium's?
Posted almost 12 years ago
Sorry it's been so long. I actually did run into the issue of a noisy chain. I wish I went with Phil hubs instead.

yeah buddy! This thing looks beastly.

question...where the hell did you find 25c black randos? i cant em nowheres.
Posted about 12 years ago
Just search on eBay for "Vittoria Randonneur 700x25c Black" and a few pop up for under $30 each.

I would've chosen a lighter tire for the front wheel and would've reinvested that weight-bonus points for some bar tape.
Other than that this is super cool, wish you some good times on it!

As you can tell by the parts list, I'm no weight weenie. It currently has bar tape. I haven't updated the pics since the day I built it. My parts list is always up to date though.

Omnium's are HELLA cranks
Dont listen to anyone

dont ever buy stuff for looks. this is your first ground up build, then these are a good purchase. cant wait to see the end result.

Gosh Omniums are so ugly =/ at least their black. Love the frame though, pumped for the full build!
Posted over 12 years ago
idk what this guy is talking about, Omniums are clean, especially on aluminum frames. Can't wait to see this finished!
Posted over 12 years ago
I think they're ugly as hell - that's just my opinion though. I'm sure a ton of people hate my bikes, It's all good really, this site is for sharing. I'm still looking forward to the final build!

I have to roll with the ladder and say Omnium's are sweet cranks. Only problem is with their QC. My set wouldn't clear the chainstay on the Kagero :( Looks like you have some proper components for a sweet build!

Saw this on reddit... I'll say it again:
Sexy Bolt!

Thanks man! Hopefully I will have some more goodies coming in soon. :)

Sweet frame! What are your plans on the build?
Posted almost 13 years ago
I plan to build it for street use in the next month or two. I wanted a nicer bike to ride on my 30 mile commute to work. Omnium crankset, Nitto bullhorns, Wellgo pedals/Cadence straps, Selle Italia SLR...
Posted almost 13 years ago
Whatever you do. Do Not Buy Wellgo pedals. you should get MKS stream pedals.
Posted over 12 years ago
The Wellgo RO-25B's are $30 something. Plus, they will just swap to my Kilo when I get some Look Keos.
Posted over 12 years ago
They are good for starting out if this is your first ground up build. you will want something else though. but it looks like you already have that in mind. look forward to seeing the build bro!

I use Wellgo R0-25Bs on all my bikes and have never had any amount of trouble with them.
Posted over 12 years ago
Because I've tried them and they seemed a little small. Felt like cages on some clipless pedals. It is irrelevant anyway because I bought some Mavic shoes and Look pedals for it.
Posted over 12 years ago
do you mean GR9's? what are GS9's? i had GR9's they werent good because they are not threaded for double straps. neither are the wellgo's the strap gets stretched and unless you are running with doubelizers...it is no bueno.
Posted over 12 years ago
That's ridiculous. I've been using laminated double straps for as long as I've been using Wellgo RO-25Bs without any problems at all.
