Smooth ride. More toe overlap than I am used to but very quick and tight. Paint has some sparkle to it that cannot be seen in the online pictures. Lovely frame. Better pictures coming soon.

how do you like your urban zoncolan?
Posted over 10 years ago
Sure. It was hard for me to find the urban version as I believe they don't make them anymore.

Well I'll be damned. I got mine over a year ago and the only place I could find that had it was a place in Europe. Had to order it from there.

I'm about 5'10 also but I feel like the 54 is a tiny bit to small.. How does this frame feel for you considering you previously rode a 55cm kagero?
Posted over 10 years ago
To be honest I really go based on feel. I grew up riding bmx bikes and always opted for a smaller frame even when bmx bikes were already small. When I switched to a road bike (Kagero) it always felt a little too big and wanted something I could whip around easier. I went with the 54cm Cinelli because they didn't offer a 55cm and I wasn't willing to get bigger (like I did with the Dosnoventa and sold it 2 days after I built it). Yes maybe it's on the small size but I'm able to dart and whip it around like I couldn't with the Kagero. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

nice build, simple but elegant,
if allowed to know, how tall are you? Thanks

hey, another question. I have noticed that your other bikes both kagero and dosnoventa are larger size. 54 cm has 53cm effective top tube and size 56 has 55cm effective top tube. Wasn't it obvious choice to go for 56 rather than 54 ?

56cm always felt big to me. I had the Kagero first and 55cm for that frame was on the bigger side with regards to fitment. I found the Donoventa and purchased it quickly before it was purchased and hoped it would fit as the geometry wasn't far off. Built up the Dosnoventa and had it sold in less than 24 hours because it was obvious right off the bat that the Dosnoventa frames run a bit big (many people have voiced the same opinion.). I decided if I was going get another new frame I wasn't going to get something again that was a little too large and try to scale it down and would rather get a little small and scale it up. Needless to say I'm happy I went with 54cm.

Thanks for you reply. You and I are the same height. I am 5'10,may be a little bit taller. I now ride Histogram 55 and it fits fine with 90mm stem. 53 felt too small. (may be not short but small) So I guess I will go for 56 Parallax which has same top tube length as my Histogram (55cm). Hope it will be good fit.

I also have a longer torso than normal. I can't remember my exact inseam measurement but my upper body is longer so 56cm may very well fit better for you.

Did you get it with drilled fork ? I mean the hole wasn't plugged ? I just heard that it comes with unplugged fork. So pitty.

nice build.

Thanks, and you the same. I'll have to check back for updated pictures with your MASH saddle. Want that optic Zoncolan but really love my current one. May have to get and put on my 'city build'.

First of all, thank you for taking non-drive-side shots as well to show the blue colour inside the chain stays. Is the inside of the fork purple on both sides?
Secondly, where did you get those old TIME atac mtb pedals? they look new!
Lastly, beautiful build! I will have mine up in a month or two (still being built).

No problem. :)
Yes, the fork has dark purple on each side. It pops really nicely in the sun when looking for it.
I lucked out and found the pedals on eBay from a new bike take off that the seller had laying around for a while. Never clipped once when I got them. Totally rad.

Funny thing is I had no idea the opposite side had blue until a day before I got it because everyone refuses to take non drive side photos.

Victorie hub are really awesome ...
Posted about 11 years ago
They are excellent. I was having a hard time deciding what hubs to go with and Patrick at PC recommended going with these and they have been solid and quite light. I'd go with them again.
