Eddy Merckx switched from Colnago to DeRosa frames because he felt the Derosa's were much stiffer. This bike is a mid 80's build really to Merckx's spec. Diamond chainstays and thick seat stays give it a real jump. Ugo Derosa helped Merckx open his frame shop after his retirement and they are still friends to this day.
