More Info:
Had ridden this frame & fork with a different set up* at the 1985 World Championships Road Race in Bassano del Grappa. Joop Zooetemelk won! * SunTour Superbe components, Mavic GP4 tubular (32 spoke) rims and Pneudan silk road tubs; 6 speed Regina close block, Campagnolo 53 x 42 170mm crankset. The original bike had Suntour Cyclone gears, Rigida rims, Wolber 700 x 20C tyres, a Kashimax saddle on an SR seatpost and SR bars and stem. It was flamboyant pale blue. Present set up - most definitely NOT stock, but I totally love it. : ) : ) : ) A bit more history - one of my bike racing mentors (Nawzer Kayani) bought it from the son of a British diplomat in Mumbai in 1979. NK had got too large to bicycle race and had switched to motorbike racing. I ended up riding the bike 'cos Noz wanted to see it ridden fast'. I did and wanted the bike! : ). So my folks decided that instead of gifting me a motorbike/ scooter when I was 18, they'd get me the bike. They did . . . and I still have it. There used to be a sticker that said 'Designed by Ernie Clements'.
