nice one and love the wishbone but why did you choose to rout the rear brakehose on the toptube?

Good question - I didn't make the choice personally, but the previous owner went with externally routed cables because it was easiest to build / deal with at the time. This bike was built before the standards for gravel bikes were established.

external is fine. on toptube is fine but on this frame the rear brake hose is on the toptube but the dereiller cable is routed on the downtube. Like this neither the downtube nor the wishbone has the clean cablefree looks. The previous owner must have some reasons to get it done like that.

The wishbone wasn’t a part of the original design of the bike either - the owner wanted room for larger tires and Firefly chopped the original rear end off, so the new one included an upgraded thru axle, room for a 2x drivetrain, and more tire clearance.

They definitely could have routed the rear brake on the down tube, but not an easy modification to re-do. Also, the cable-free look wasn’t exactly common place in 2015.
