Framework 940

Funny aluminum German MTB from early 90-s or late 80-s. I have bought this bike just for fun, plan to build kinda commuter bike out of it. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, we will see. Frame is okay, apparently original Mavic rims are also intact, but apart of that technical condition of the bike is desolate to say the least. From the entire drivetrain maybe only the rear sprocket and pedals with cranks are fine. Rear derailleur is working, but even after adjustments, it sometimes doing weird stuff when shifting. I guess there is no way to make this thing work properly without cleaning and regreasing. Looks like the bike hasn’t been serviced since purchase. So far, I have changed the tubes, tires and adjusted the brakes a little so the bike is safe to ride. Front derailleur is also dismounted, so actual gearing is 38T front and 14-32T with 7 gears at the back. Even though the technical condition of the bike is bad, it’s still fun to ride. I hope it gets even better after rebuild. The plan for this bike is to rebuild it to the 1x7 gearing, replacing the crankset (probably something between 39T and 42T), and add some small things like front rack+basket and eventually rear rack.
