In the end I had to face it, Franka's frame has always been a bit too small for me. On the other hand, my girlfriend Rita usually uses her Townie cruiser to get around, which is fine as long as our son and myself are not on our racebikes. They're rolling too well for that heavy cruiser, so she needed a racebike for those family outings. Since she didn't want to put up with drop bars and downtube shifting I made some significant changes, mounting unusually wide riser bars and thumbie shifters...

Nah, not really. I had them lying around from some rims I bought for another bike and the reason they're on are, because the new wheels will be white deep-Vs with white tires... and this gives me an idea how it's going to look ;-)
