Yup :) i removed paints with heatgun, then it became too "bling" so i sanded it with 2000P wetsandingpaper and cleat coated. No rust yet :-)

With "too bling" i meant too shiny, like a silver you know? ;D I just heated it well, about 10x2cm slices at time, then used knife or wire brush to rip paint off. It took couple of hours but was worth it.
