Just wondered if you could provide more info on the front wheel, i have 2 NOS cxp30 which are 28h/32/ but i was considering building up the 32h as a front but using half the spokes as you have here. My original plan was radial like the shamal has but i see you have 1x cross. Is this because of the hub or better strength? what hub did you use and any ideas on spoke length. Were the hub holes filed to fit aero spokes? Regards

hi, nice you still have those cxp30's.......you really have a good eye to notice the lacing and using half the number of spokes which is 16, sir. the reason why i have a 1 cross instead of the radial is that the rim has 32h while my hub has 36h.........at one point at the hub spoke holes, there is a skip of 2 holes to match the 32rim to a 36hub. but if, you're using 32h rim and hub....radial will definitely work, no problem. i have this in the past with no problems of using half the number of spokes like 18 spokes on a 36h rim/36h hub.....in this case 16 spokes for a 32h rim/36h hub. thanks

Thanks for your reply hg, yeah i figured the rim is the same as a Cosmic expert, available in 16h. I only worried if the empty spoke holes could be a weakness to the rim integrity but everyone says they are 'bomb proof'. I also considered filling them with metal epoxy. I was going to use a shimano RS20 hub i have laying around - for 16 radial spokes - the main issue is availability of straight pull aero spokes at the right length. I will post up pics of the build when i get round to building them.
