KHS Aero Turbo 1994 "Dunham"

This is my dream road bike, I had this need since I saw one built up with a modern groupset. After a long hunt I was able to find a frameset in very good shape, no dents, just a few scratches. Since I've never rode a road bike before my plan was to go fancy but not too expensive, the tiagra 4700 groupset fit perfectly in my pocket and it is a very nice groupset. Bought most of the thins second handed minus the groupset, it rides like a beast! Weighting at 9,700kg.

Frame:
Khs aero turbo 1994, size 52, AVR True Temper Tubering

Fork/Headset:
KHS, FSA Duron headset.

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
tiagra 4700

Pedals:
shimano r540

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:

Derailleurs/Shifters:
tiagra 4700

Handlebars/Stem:
deda piega 40cm bars and cinelli pinocchio 120mm stem

Saddle/Seatpost:
selle italia slr flow (ti rails and carbon) with bbb skyscrapper 26.8mm seatpost

Brakes:
tiagra 4700

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
shimano rs010 with 28c gatorskins

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
shimano rs010 with 28c gatorskins

More Info:
The frame is made to ride 25c tires max, I had to dimple the chainstay a little bit, as you can see in the pictures, to make just enough room to fit the 28c tire

Hi Marino... Can you tell me more about this bike... How did it handle with the old steel frame...? I just bought exactly the same frame for a backup bike I will be assemblying. My idea is exactly to add a Tiagra 10s or a 105 with 12s .. Did you face any difficulties with Tiagra in this frame? I think my setup will end exactly the same that you had. Thanks.

sorry for the late response, I haven't been around pedalroom much these days.

So, this bike is very comfortable and has an amazing response to power, the steering is like driving a truck, the total opposite of a snappy response.

I had no issues using tiagra 4700 on it, everything just goes in place nicely, I had to make a custom cable housing on the cable that goes from the frame to the rear derailleur just because I didn't what the cable to be bending a lot, gave it a lot of room and the gear shifting was always perfect, also gave me one more point to ajust the tension.

The only problem I faced was trying to fit 28mm tyres, as you can see in the pictures, other than that, it is pretty straight foward build.

I sold it to a friend whos using a 105 r7000, also with no issues building.

Nice bike bro, but how does it feel to use brakes and have a freewheel hub after riding fixed gear for so long?
