Nice build! Why such a lengthy stem?

I'm pretty tall, and I was really aiming for a more neutral level for the handlebars, at least to start off with. I can adjust it down some. Also, there weren't a ton of options for a quill stem at the bike shop from which I got it.

Definitely more pictures coming soon. I have a picture of the wheelset (just need to get it off my phone), but just ordered the crankset, pedals, and shoes last night.
