Hi. I'm new to this site and I have a 2011 721TR in progress for my first track/fixed bike. I want to ask what year is your frame? I've been reading and seeing pictures of 721TR that you couldn't slam the rear wheel all the way (?) I see your Deep Vs fit perfectly. Sorry but I'm still a noob. My plan is to put either Deep V or B43 (rear) and a Mavic Ellipse (front) or just go straight Mavic.

I have the v2.5. I wouldn't know whether or not you could slam the wheels all the way. My wheels aren't slammed. They fit fine. I add links/take away links everytime I switch my cog from 15t to 13t as you can see the double fixed gears on the rear wheel so sorry, I wouldn't know about the slamming.

Hey Mash, thanks for your response. It's cool, I was just curious what version of 721 you have. Actually, yours look better than the ones I've seen before; theirs have the rear wheels very close to the edge of the dropouts. In an unrelated topic, would you know if it's cool to use a 32H hub into a 28H rim? I ask cos I got a good deal of Deep Vs yesterday for buy 1 get 1 free! I had to grab them! However, I see a few choices of hubs who does 28 drillings. My options are Suzue or Phil Wood but the latter hub is just too damn expensive. Ideas?

I've never laced my own rims so I wouldnt know if it would work. probably not. you can try and itmay work but it may be sketchy when riding. Maybe some phil wood. Idk, flip a coin :D or make your wallet more comfy

I think im going to get one, I heard having a good carbon fork makes a big difference. Thanks for the feedback, dont hear much about it. Nice build though i like it.

The carbon fork does make a difference. If you are going to get it and you have the money for it, aim higher and get a 725. much better.

You do have a good point, the 721 was really ideal to me because i can start right away on the build, I dont have to be picky about having the nicest parts but i would like something nicer at the same time. Its just hard because your like ok im saving up to get a 725, when you get enough money for that your like hmmm why dont i save a little more and get the 735 and then when you have the money for that your like why dont i save up for a Cinelli Vigorelli and so on and so on.

Last thing, what size is this? how tall are you? Im 5'7 i know Leader has a different geometry then most frames, confused if i should get the 51cm or the 53cm.

I'm about 5'7 and really, I don't know why but I ordered a 51cm. I always though i could just raise the seatpost, and tthats whay I do. But its like super raised. You can get a 51,53,or 55. Probably go with 53. It really depends on how long ur legs are.

Yeah I usually ride a 53 and i have ridden my friends 56 before and that wasnt to bad. Ill probably go with the 53 and get a shorter stem if i have to. I really appreciate the feedback, deffinetly will help with my decision.

How do you like the frame? Im assuming its a little harsh with the aluminum fork but is it stiff?
Posted almost 13 years ago
I like it. Decent frame set. I don't think it's that stiff but it may just be me. I'm satisfied with it. for now. Still could do better with a few parts but I'm working my way up.
