I love your bike man and hey, ride it anywhere with whatever wheels you like. You're right, some people are only sour grapes. You should put a tracker on it like I did so if it get's stolen you know where it is.

May I ask, How do you stop?

WTF is a mid skid? and why would you skid on tubulars. Thats asking for trouble.

Thank you. Thank you for letting the wheelset go to a new home, hopefully a home where they won't be ruined by being ridden on the streets.

May I ask, Who told u I ride it on the street almost time? sour grapes

Is is pretty much flat where you live? 55-17 has to get tiring on the streets.
Posted almost 12 years ago
55/17 it is very suitable for me :) i live in Hangzhou.there are many mountain here haha

Major props man. I couldn't do it. I've been riding 52-17 for a couple months and I'm planning to gear down soon since I'll be riding downtown more often and with more hills.
Posted almost 12 years ago
55x17 is only 85.2 gear inches. 52x17 is only 80.5 gear inches. For comparison sake, 46x13 is 93.1 inches, 42x13 is 85.0 gear inches. I kind of get annoyed with this big ring trend because the people using them are trying to act as though they are pulling a heavy gear and they are not.

Well it is a different feel. I've been riding fixed for almost 7 years now and have ridden several different sized rings and cogs. It really comes down to cadences for me. I don't care for a lot of spinning. And there are heavier gears even if your using a calculator to justify inches.

42x16 or bust!
pulling a heavy gear is dumb. people who run giant gear ratios just haven't learned to spin their legs. but to the credit of large rings, they do last longer, smaller cogs and smaller rings get tooth wear faster. so in all reality a big-big combo is probably better for racking up commuter miles. but also, commuters are meant to be junk anyway

so. much. money. do you sell drugs?
Posted almost 12 years ago
Haha zing! But that is one incredible bike. Couldn't lock that up here in long beach. Shit would get stolen, then sold by a random "fixie thief" for $100 if that.

how about the fact that its his money and as humans we can do as we please? He enjoys his bike, what else matters?

i love that you ride on the street not giving any fucks

How about having some respect for the craftsmen that designed and built the frame specifically for the track? And how about some respect for the craftsmen that built and designed those wheels specifically for the track as well? How about the fact that since it was designed to only turn left on an oval track, you have no toe clearance and could fall easily when making a turn? How about the fact that if you fall or get hit by something, the frame will most likely crack and become unusable? Please think about these things before you say something so idiotic as "i don't think so.does someone say that u must have sex on the bed". It's not the same thing at all, your dick won't crack if you fall whilst having sex with someone outside, will it?

you there's a 496Tri, which is a TT bike for the road. Apart from the dropouts, the frames are identical. And on the wheels, obviously there's a road version of the Comete, and it's not uncommon to see IOs on TT bikes.
So in the end, he could ride it on the road. Sure, it's not and ideal commuter for urban areas, but out on the country, I reckon it would be a lot of fun.

sure, it's not and ideal commuter for urban areas.but did i said i ride it on the street almost time? u guys are so funny. sour grapes.haha :D

arent you afraid of the carbon failing from the harshness of city streets? that seems crazy to me. this things belongs on a track or hung on a wall
Posted almost 12 years ago
"belongs on a track or hung on a wall?" i don't think so.does someone say that u must have sex on the bed? :) hahaha
Posted almost 12 years ago
why are you relating riding a bike and potentially killing yourself to sex? there nothing alike
Posted over 10 years ago
Why that choice of pedals might I ask?
Posted almost 12 years ago
because most of time i walked and walked and walked after a ride.this kind of pedals is more convenient to walk.
Posted almost 12 years ago
using the mavic io and comete track just doesn't seem very practical for road use.
