Frame:
The L96 design is based on the legendary 496. This new development aims to optimise the aerodynamics, improve the power transmission, and reduce the weight whilst retaining the fantastic qualities of stiffness and efficiency that have made a success of the 496. To achieve these objectives, on the one hand LOOK uses its carbon matrix, and on the other adapts to the track the integration concept that has already been proven on road and MTB. Crankset, stem and handlebars have been developed by LOOK to work perfectly together and provide geometry and stiffness solutions minimising the total weight.

Fork/Headset:
Different types of carbon fibre are used to make the fork: HR, IM and HM in order to obtain the best compromise between stiffness, flexibility and handling, whilst controlling the weight of the fork, which remains below the 500 gm limit. The frontal / lateral stiffness ration has been developed to gain steering accuracy. The fork is offset for an exceptional air penetration coefficient and LOOK has worked on all aspects to have the best aerodynamic sections within the 3:1 ratio imposed by the UCI. LOOK has also developed a new interface with the stem permitting continuous adjustment without loss of stiffness. Available in 3 sizes and 2 dropout offsets to retain identical behaviour in all sizes.

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
LOOK are revolutionising the speed world with this track version of its ZED one-piece carbon crankset. Our innovative manufacturing procedures allow us to construct the first hollow structure carbon one piece pedal, with an aerodynamic profile the chain ring positioning itself continuously with the crankset for a tenfold power gain. Twice as rigid as the reference track crankset, it explodes all stiffness records for a weight of only 450 gms. It also brings the TRILOBE technology to the track, which allows the crank length to be varied by turning a nut (size 1 = 165 / 167.5 / 170 mm - size 2 = 72.5 / 175 / 177.5 mm). To gain yet more power, the bearings have been optimised. Compatible with all pedals. The Kéo Power notably integrates perfectly due to a radio housing at the end of the cranks. Finally, nuts are integrated into the crankset to ease chainring installation.

Pedals:

To further improve the transfer of power and to longevity of the pedal, this surface area is made of stainless steel molded directly into the pedal body. • LIGHT: 122GR At a mere 122 grams (in Carbon Version, 130g in Composite), the Kéo 2 MAX is one of the lightest pedals in its category. This has been achieved through the use of a carbon injection process allowing for weight reduction and improved durability. • RELIABILITY Particular attention was focused on reliability and provided through features such as: a carbon injected pedal body, a stainless steel cleat contact area, an oversized axle with dual seals, making this a pedal built to last. The new line of Kéo 2 MAX pedals maintains a low cleat contact height even with the use of a steel oversize axle. The pedal is built with two miniature ball bearings (12mm inner x 18mm outer diameters) and a needle roller bearing. LOOK axles are only approved once they have survived a million cycles at 100 revolutions per minute with a 90kg (198lbs) load at the center of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (replicating a bump each revolution). This test largely surpasses current standards (reference NF EN 14781). Dual seals increase bearing longevity. • ADJUSTABLE Q-FACTOR Thanks to 14mm of threads on the new LOOK axle, the Q-factor may be extended by 2mm with the use of specific washers available separately. Use of these specific washers results in a Q-factor of 55mm versus the original 53mm.

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
Shimano Dura Ace NJS racing track bike cog 13T This is the NJS approved, track racing fixed cog from Shimano Japan. It bears the Dura Ace name, and therefore represents the finest in Japanese production. This is the 13T model. 16T is generally better for street use, 14 and 15 are very popular in pro keirin racing. 13T is to be used for the track with lighter chainring sizes, or with very small bmx front chainrings for trick/track bikes. Shimano cogs are designed purely for pro track racing, so they never made anything above a 16T cog. Please check out the Grunge Tokyo, and B-Witch Tokyo cogs, if you are looking for something larger than a 16T. Handlebars/Stem:

A new system (LOOK patent) permits continuous angular adjustment by friction cone so as to have the finest height adjustment whatever the stem length. The stem cap is completely integrated to conserve the aerodynamic qualities. Available in 18 sizes, from 55 mm to 140 mm every 5 mm.

Saddle/Seatpost:
The saddle clamp is completely integrated and continuous up to the saddle rails to permit continuity of the seat tube stiffness. The system includes an extremely stiff very high-pressure compressed carbon head. Customised position: very accurate height (+/- 7 mm using spacers) and offset adjustments. Finally the angular adjustment is independent of the saddle clamping and is possible using a fine pitch screw situated in front of the forged head.
