Trying to understand the stem situation here. Is it correct that this frame was intended for a threadless (1-1/8" ?) steerer, but you somehow converted it for a quill stem?

I love the look of quill stems and have run into some frustration over the decreasing availability of newer frames intended for threaded headsets, even among those that are intended to be retro-styled.

The headtube is 1" inch threadless. I love quill stems as well but the height of the stem just ruins it

The plan is to find an original fork, -17 stem with 1 to 1 1/8 shim
