My Speedwell Engineering (not associated with Speedwell Gearcase). Frame normalized by Gary Klein.

Frame:
6061 T6 Aluminum 54.5CM

Fork/Headset:
Bador. Bonded aluminum blades & sloping crown. Been so long I don’t remember the headset (Galli?).

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Omas non-threaded sealed cartridge. Campagnolo Super Record 165mm.

Pedals:
Aerolite but started life with Gepiemme D-platform & wire cages.

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
So long ago I don’t remember. I do remember early on replacing the Regina Oro as it was improperly spaced from the factory.

Derailleurs/Shifters:
Campagnolo Nuevo Record, or Super Record front that is insert bolted to the frame. Sun tour ratcheting bar end shifters. Keep your brifters, I still like bar-end the best.

Handlebars/Stem:
Stem is a 3TTT. It is the only one I have ever seen like this. A titanium bolt reaches part-way down and a cone with an extension reaches up to the bolt. A key holds the stem to a removable bottom on the bar clamp meaning no cables have to be removed to service the headset. I believe the bars are Cinelli 64/44. I just can’t breathe with 42, or 40CM bars.

Saddle/Seatpost:
Seat post is custom since the seat tube is 1.5” x .049”. Concor Selle Italia saddle.

Brakes:
Modolo carbon fiber levers, Modolo calipers. Originally the bike was to have (Walt) Matthauser sealed hydraulic brakes. Fairly light, used a rolling bellowfram which were incredibly strong. Not too bad on price, and up until a few years ago I actually owned a set that were still factory sealed!

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Hi-E Engineering 32 hole, low-flange sealed bearing hub, Alpina spokes & nipples, Ambrosio Crono Durex, Clement Criterium Seta Extra. The silk tires, and Crono rims were not too light for everyday use. After 42 years the wheels still do not need to be trued. As for road silks. Don’t ever use them! They are so wonderful that you will never go back to anything else!

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Hi-E Engineering 32 hole low-flange sealed-bearing hub. Alpina spokes & nipples. Ambrosia Crono Durex 320gm, Clement Criterium Seta Extra (also silk casing. They are a very addictive drug. Once you use fine road silks you can never go back). I had planned for Robert Barrett Side to modify my hub & freewheel. The modification uses a splined ring from the Phil Wood bottom bracket. The modification allows the chain to stay tensioned on the freewheel, and the freewheel to stay attached to the bike during a wheel change.

Accessories:
Pino quick-release titanium skewers. I just had to use them on a bike like this.

More Info:
Finest (and fastest!) bike I have ever ridden. Nothing like a bike custom tailored to a perfect fit. I discovered during the build that TTT, or three TTT, or 3-TTT is actually, “Tubo Techno Torino”, and it’s pronounced (“you stupid American, learn to speak Italian before you call again”) “Torno”.
