hey i just want to ask if how was your experience with the suzue hubs cuz im planning on building one.

kyle-j

kyle-j says:

It was good. They spun for days, just keep them properly tuned.

yowmama94

yowmama94 says:

arent they sealed bearings?so tuning them up is not that hard right?

Posted about 11 years ago

kyle-j

kyle-j says:

Yes they are sealed, but you have to have the proper tension between the cones and the cartridge bearings. All you need is a couple cone wrenches and it should be a breeze.

NOO. Still interested in the Zen chainring, lol? Hopefully something even better will be replacing this, or are you laying the groundwork for a college fund for the young one?

Posted almost 12 years ago

kyle-j

kyle-j says:

I think I'm keeping it, unless the right buyer comes along with a good price. Its sadly sitting in pieces right now. But yes, still want that Zen!
Haha. And the college fund has been started!

Have you had any problems with maintenance on those hubs?

Posted over 12 years ago

kyle-j

kyle-j says:

I had one small problem, but that was because the previous owner didn't have them dialed in quite right. Now they spin like butter.

Rushing

Rushing says:

Just wondering because I thought about building wheels with different bearing hubs. Not for daily stuff, though.

kyle-j says:

Are you thinking about the sealed version or the loose ball version? I'd go loose ball if they were going to be intended for the track.

Thats where the hands belong. Just on the upper edge of the frontwheel! But u definiteley need another stem. That upward angle looks strange. Nice Bike!

Thanks. I like the stem where its at though, function over fashion in this case.

Function over fashion but I dont see anything wrong with the stem. Fact Ive seen stems on track bikes that have +10 deg rise and still look good
