Originally belonged to an old pro, Olaf Ludwig, who raced for the Panasonic team decades ago (I think the frameset is from the early 90's, maybe 1991). Bought it from a former bike messenger who rode it day and night for his job, so it has seen some shit. In pretty good condition considering this.

that frame is still on my wish list for santa. i would prefer white bar tape and tubulars but still good looking.
Posted over 8 years ago
White does look good indeed: https://i.imgur.com/yU9J6ca.png
But the paint is so perfectly setup for these colours that I couldn't resist.
Posted over 8 years ago
yeah, it's the fizik tape. fell for that one too as you can see on my dasia.^^
but switched cuz of the old rule: sattle and bars need same colors.
Posted over 8 years ago
old rules would ruin the flow of this. grateful you have a great eye past what we're trained to look at.
in your opinion, wouldn't Shamals look crisp on this? they're heavy, but curious how it be without the harshness of blackened components
Posted over 8 years ago
Yeah, the tape is alright.
Regarding Shamals: I don't think they really suit the style of this type of bike, especially since it's a Japanese NJS frame. On top of that they're hard to find and expensive, and they'd had to be clinchers. I think these wheels look nice and they spin well, so with that being said I will not change them. Though Shamal wheels are something else indeed.

The road drops finish it off nicely I think. Superb bike!
Posted almost 9 years ago
Funny thing; I actually don't really like the look. Probably will be replaced with some Nitto track drops!
Posted almost 9 years ago
I'm about to build a Level up and will be moving most parts from my Low over, including the road bars. I like the look on street builds, comfy too. In saying that, track drops will obviously be perfect on this also!
Posted almost 9 years ago
are you still gonna get some nitto drops for this?
Posted almost 9 years ago
That's the plan, yes.
Preferably B125's, cause I'm afraid B123's might be too deep. And hopefully a Nitto S65 post to go along with it, in 26.8mm though.

Thanks! I clean it regularly ;)
Sweet Umezawa! Nice colour. Never seen that before.

Im in love with this bike, very clean build
Posted about 9 years ago
Thanks! Yeah, nothing super exotic but I think the parts match the frame.
Too bad about your back problems. Sweet Affinity though.
Posted about 9 years ago
Wow, that actually looks amazing for an ex-work-bike.
Posted about 9 years ago
Yeah, it's not too bad. The messenger I bought it from actually bought it from another messenger. There are some paint chips of course and stuff like that, but nothing major fortunately!

This ties my fave Panasonic NJS.

Yeah, that one is fantastic. I looked it up when I first got the frame. Arguably has better parts and is in better condition, but I love mine all the same!
Posted about 9 years ago
I would'nt argue. Yours is fantastic in it's own right. I can't really call one better than the other. The patina on your bike really gives it a little something extra.
I'd love to see it with a Pearl instead of a Jaguar.

You live/ride near the the hague?

volgens mij zag ik je bij De Spartaan in Rijswijk een paar weken terug, bij zo'n fixed gear demo wedstrijdje.
Posted about 9 years ago
Klopt ja! Train ook meestal op maandag en donderdag bij De Spartaan met de jongens van Royal.

Saw this on LFGSS, with all your hesitations about bar tape/saddle. Nice bike, love the classical Panasonic paint scheme.
Congratulation for your front page here :)
Posted about 9 years ago
Yeah, it was a bit of a struggle. But in the end I think this is the best combination out there. Thanks!

Featured! Great job - one of my favourite forum bikes. :D
Posted about 9 years ago
Thanks, she's finally finished (I think!) - nice pics soon :)
I've gotta get down to London's famous London for one of these NJS rides...
Posted about 9 years ago
Without a doubt my favorite Panasonic - you have fantastic taste my friend! Enjoy

Man, if I were the creator of this frame set and saw this build; I would cry my eyes out. Just pure beauty!
Posted about 9 years ago
Stunning! Love the touches of blue and how they match just right. Great build!
Posted about 9 years ago
Yes! I knew this had to be featured! Super Solid bike once again.

Arrived at this bike via lfgss- beautiful frameset, lovely job on the build
Posted about 9 years ago
Thank you! I'm pleased with the result as well.
Any pictures from your RIH yet?

Coming soon! Should've done it 5 years ago.. or in the summer.. waiting on a nice Sunday. Till then I'm busy building a new fixed weapon :)
Posted about 9 years ago
Awesome photos.. must have been an expensive camera you used ;)!
Posted about 9 years ago
The camera was nice, albeit I borrowed it from a guy which was kind of an asshole.. :3
Posted about 9 years ago
wow... This is a Panasonic POS and team Panasonic paint & decal works... Great!
Posted over 9 years ago
The frame is NJS? That gentle curve to the seattube seems like it would be against regulation. Beautiful bike regardless. Awesome paintjob.
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks.
It has the NJS stamp on the bottom bracket, so I think so: http://i.imgur.com/z0Dm63V.jpg

awesome!

I thought so!
Nice GT! A Kinesis you say? Do you know the difference between a GTB/Pulse? Anyway looking good!
Posted over 9 years ago
Pulse is better aluminum I'm pretty sure. Don't quote me on that. And it originally comes with a Kinesis aluminum fork where as the GTB comes with a steel one.

Nice bike man... :)
Als je haar ook wilt verkopen
ik was net te laat op mp ;)
Posted over 9 years ago
Haha, thanks.
Nice Zeus frame! Plannen om het op te bouwen?
Posted over 9 years ago
Hehe...mocht je je ooit bedenken ik wil haar graag van je overnemen en in mijn collectie hebben... ;)
thanks man ik ben nu een jaar bezig met de zeus..komt full zeus pista groep op..

Steamroller and will probably post when i get the setup right. Realized i havent been on the site in a while so thought i would browse and had to give you props on this! /Love steel frames and ecspecially Panasonics and Bridgestones.

Super solid! Liking the new cockpit
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks! Yeah, the Jaguar was a sure thing. And compact drops weren't really period correct so to say.
I like you Muirandessi! Very clean and nice paint.
Posted over 9 years ago
its been a long time since that frame was made but its still looking nice. nice set up!
Posted over 9 years ago
Yeah, I believe it's from the early 90's, 1991 maybe? But I'm not sure.
If anyone has more information about this frame, that would be great!
There are some little rust spots, but considering this frame was used by a messenger I'd say it held up pretty well!

very nice bike! lovely!
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks!
You have a very nice stable yourself. I especially like your Merckx! Great Suntour parts.
Posted over 9 years ago

I was just checking out your Pelizzoli; lovely frameset! Almost done yet?
Posted over 9 years ago
Such a beautiful beast...
Posted over 9 years ago
Thank you!
I have to say your Bishop is just astonishing. From the gorgeous paint (on the frame, the stem and the cranks) to the details like the perforated saddle and bar grips, simply stunning. One of the most beautiful track bikes I have seen.
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks a lot for the compliment! I put too much love in that build, not a single detail keeps untouched, glad you like it!
Posted over 9 years ago
So good!
Posted over 9 years ago
Of course, and thank you! I just shot some new photos that I'll upload soon.
Posted over 9 years ago
My fav Panasonic I've seen thus far!! And I've seen a lot.
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks, that's a great compliment :)
Your GTB is a classic; lovely frame. Are you getting a matching rear tire?
Posted over 9 years ago
I actually enjoy the look. With both panasonics it's overkill. I'm going with an all new wheelset and tire combo very soon just haven't made up my mind. Any suggestions?
Posted over 9 years ago
I don't know what you like or what your budget is dude!
But off the top of my head I think Mavic Ellipses would look sweet. Otherwise maybe some polished H+Son Archetypes laced to a couple of nice hubs? Or a set of deep carbons if you have the cash!
Posted over 9 years ago
super clean.
wouldnt change a thing. good choice in everything hah
Posted over 9 years ago
I'm also very happy with how it turned out, thanks!
You have an awesome collection of bikes by the way!
Posted over 9 years ago
So fucking good dude
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks!
I like your Superb! I was eyeing one before I bought this frameset. Proper ratty, yours.
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks dude. I love it, but this makes me want another steel track bike on top of it.
Perfect build!
