Awesome, awesome bike. It's really light, even with the extremely heavy, but bombproof, wheelset. The aluminum frame makes accelerating much more explosive. Threw on the front brake to keep my knees from blowing out.

i thought about stripping my fuji down to the raw metal for a long long time as well. looks really nice man!

That's sick. What did you seal it with after you stripped it?

thanks again you guys! the original owner of the frame didn't have it sealed. he's had it like this actually for 2-3 months and it still looks great. what people usually do is just get a can of matte/gloss spraypaint and clearcoat it.

I dunno how you'll feel about it, but as it oxidizes (dulls) I think it might look really cool. It won't do anything terrible beyond the patina (it looks like maybe it's already dulling?)

yeah, it looks like its beginning to dull. so would this compromise the strength of the metal?

Baous says:
aluminum doesnt necessarily have to be clear coated because aluminum does not corrode in the way steel or iron does. it would be good to clear coat it just for good measure though
