It's heavy. I commuted on it a good bit, but there are a lot of better bikes than a heavy low end touring bike to commute on. I'd suggest something aluminum for most commutes.

really? I was really attracted to this for my 20 mile commute. It feels great and upright. I just dont know how it feel after 10 miles of commute.
