Got this old frame for $15. Stripped off the ugly paint, and found out it was fully chromed underneath. Then I started building what became my budget cafe cruiser.

Yeah almost too snug. I actually altered the chainstay a little, after this picture was taken, to make a little more space.

why do you not recommend 35c tires? I run the same ones on my old steel sscx conversion and I have had nothing but fun on them.

There's nothing wrong with the tires, they are great. It's the frames chainstay there's too narrow for the back tire down by the bottom bracket. Adding a pic of it in a moment.

ah I see. Luckily my frame was designed for 27" wheels and I have 700c so it has a lot of room,

Did you mean to use the SRAM rings for a reason or it was just laying around?

Got it for free and it was just laying around. So no particular reason, other than I also think it's a nice looking chainring.
