Thanks! I took it out for a test spin today and it rode like any good steelie. I was also quite happy about it not making any rattles or pings with so much parts and accessories loaded on the bike. It turned out to be a nice workhorse. :)

Man, I took it out a few times and I am absolutely loving the longer wheelbase handling of the touring frame. So much more stability than any racing bike... And I can't deny the convenience of actually having a bike that can stand up when parked with a kick-stand!! LOL!

That leather saddle is a real pain in the butt though, till it wears some and gets softer.

It's heavy...but once up to speed, no wind will slow this rig...LOL

lots of screws in tight spots...I used mostly lock-nuts so I don't have to screw with them again soon...

Honjo 35mm fenders aluminum rack and decaleur, some liberal use of anodized aluminum fasteners... I'm liking this...

Can't wait to see the finished product, diggin' the Honjo fenders.

Thanks! The hard part is from here. I have to polish all the old flaky parts to shine, and gather little bits and pieces that are becoming increasingly hard to do to an old bike since everything is online and many local shops stopped dealing with steelies.

Great re-build! One note - this isn't a Voyageur II. The Voyageur II was the successor to the World Voyageur (baby paramount), and was made from 1974-1976. You've got the full fledged touring Voyageur, which ran from 1983 to 1991. Judging by the decals and color, I'd say yours is a 1987 Model. Sorry for the lecture ;-) Enjoy that fine ride!
