Visp TRX999 (Newest Model)

I think people don't give Visp's enough credit. I've found that the quality is great and the frame is super stiff. Plus, it's got one of the best looking shapes in my opinion.

Current Stage Info:

Basically upgraded the drivetrain to a shorter crank because I realized 175mm was too long for my stride. Added clip-less pedals.

bro, is the frame track(straight) or sloping?

It's a track frame. Not a pursuit frame!

Thanks man! Yeah, just starting to use it again after a long winter lol. The quality is great for how much it was. Really solid feeling frame. Obviously a few visual imperfections are expected here and there but everything seems symmetrical and solid. I only paid about $120 USD for the frame so I can't complain. Plus this is the newer model so it's much nicer than the old 977 or whatever. I have loved it! Plus I think it has nicer curves than frames of similar style.

well thanks for that response coz i really wanna know how was the quality of this frame. and by the way that older version was trx790 lol. But im really confused man because i saw other trx999 with a different frame build.. i mean the headtube part is different from your's..the top tube and the down tube has a gap in the headtube. different from your frame.

I'm not sure where you found the frame with a gap in the headtube, but that isn't a real one. They shouldn't have that because all the ones I've seen look exactly the same as mine! Be careful!

yeah i think so, but it seems legit or like improved version? i dont know haha. thats why im doing everything to gather info for this frame because im really craving to have one. by the way, 1 year have passed when you built this bike, did you have any issues on your frame right now?

bngbox

bngbox says:

Nope, haven't had any issues with the frame or anything. I mean, the rest of my parts are technically much better quality than just the frame itself, so that helps to keep the bike together nicely. For example, just the chainring is as expensive as the frame itself. So it depends on how well you build up the rest of the bike. But the frame has been absolutely solid throughout.

This is a gorgeous build. I have an identical frame but in red, and recently my seat clamp broke. Do you have any clue where I could order a new one? I have been searching high and low and can not figure it out. Thanks!

bngbox says:

Thanks, man! Where exactly did your clamp break? This is integrated, so it might be hard to find replacement parts. I'd love to see your bike when you get it up!

What seat post size did you use?

bngbox says:

I misread your comment lol. The seatpost is 27.2, but the damn clamp is 27.4. I have no idea why they did that but it was quite frustrating getting it to stay actually.

Looks great. How are you liking the Yoeleo's so far? I was thinking about ordering a set.

bngbox says:

Love them! Super light and slick looking. Great handling and cuts through the air nicely. Pretty solid overall. I haven't been over too many crazy bumps but they've been holding up considering the bumps I have been over in the city.

Yeah, I'll be riding around Manhattan so I'm a bit concerned about how they will hold up. I think I might just order the rear wheel anyway so not too much risk. Am I seeing things wrong or does the rear not have a breaking surface?

Posted almost 11 years ago

bngbox

bngbox says:

Yeah Manhattan probably isn't the best for these wheels. The wider you get, the better, probably. But still, a risk. I'm planning to bring mine back to suburban CT so that's not a problem lol. Yeah, you can talk to them personally and customize your wheels. I asked him not to put a braking surface on the back to make it look cleaner because I'm not going to use a rear brake in the future. But that's up to you.

Thing is sick! I've been looking for one of these frames for a minute, they used to be on ebay but all have seemed to disappear. Anyone know where I can grab one?

Wish I could help you in terms of US (?) sites but I got all my stuff while living here in China. If you could translate or read Chinese, you could look on some of those sites lol
