... same situation i was in like 12 months ago... neighbor sold his dad's bike... wonderful silver 979... i checked some classic forums and came across this problem...
... thing about old vitus lugs is, that the tubes are "glued"... over the years the cement looses it's flexiblity and adhesion... you can restore it but that's work for pros...
