Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it!

Coomer here. I'm taking the long weekend off, traveling away from my computers. All I'm bringing is a pen and a notebook, and I'm going to plan out some future Pedal Room features. Next week I'll post a few up and hopefully you guys and gals can give us some input on what we've got planned.

We just hit one-thousand members! Thanks everyone who's been a part so far, and everyone who will play a part in the booming future of Pedal Room!

It took us a bit longer than we hoped to get to one-thousand, but the next thousand (and many more) should come much more quickly. The community in general and Pedal Room are always growing, and we're behind the scenes always planning for growth and improving the site to make Pedal Room the best place for bikes!

Spread the word and let's make Pedal Room even bigger and better! Thanks again everyone!

Today we launched something that we've been meaning to build for a while - better bike search. After all, bikes is what we're all about. Now Pedal Room has better bike searching options.

You can search by keywords like you've been able to before, but also by location, and you can choose to sort bikes in various order and show only bikes with photos as well!

One thing we had a lot of fun building that we hope you guys will enjoy is our location search. Say you see some cool bike in Ballard (a neighborhood here in Seattle) and want to find it. You can search for location "Ballard" on the advanced bike search page, choose to sort by distance, and then results will come back not only in Ballard, but also in the neighboring areas. Of course, if you sorted by distance, the bikes closest to your entered location will show up first. See the image below for a rough idea of what we're talking about.

We just finished upgrading our tag clouds to make it easier to see what the most popular and least popular tags are. There used to be a ton of tiny tags and one or two large ones, but now tags are better distributed thanks to our new logarithmic algorithm. We hope you guys enjoy it!

Also, we upgraded our member search with an option to search for only members with bikes. We'll be adding a similar option to find only members with photos and sorting options soon, as well as sorting options for bikes and an advanced bike search! Check back often for more features and more great bikes added from all over!

We just released some new features that we hope you guys will enjoy! You can now browse bikes by tag, search for members by location as well as name, order member search results, and find everything a bit easier (we hope) with the new navigation menus.

Every so often, you see something really special - a gorgeous bike or beautifully-thought-out photo for example - and you just want to share it!

Starting today, we'll be featuring bikes on Pedal Room! Awesome bikes, bikes with great photos, bikes that are unique, etc. Be sure to check back often to see what's featured, and give us a shout if you see something feature-worthy!

We just released a neat new feature for you guys! You can now view
stats on your bike, including bike pageviews and how many people (and
who) have favorited your bike. Just login and view your bike(s) and
you'll see the info on the right side of the page.

If there are any other stats you'd love to see for your bike, let us know and we'll consider adding them!

We also fixed a couple bugs and did some small tweaks here and there, including automatically linking URLs in bike profiles and cleaning up the home page a bit.

Over the weekend, we did a lot of work on Pedal Room.

Most noticeable are the new formats for notification emails. They now are sent out in HTML (and text as well for older email clients/phones, etc.) which makes the links work better and the emails in general work better.

The other work this weekend was all behind the scenes. We switched over to a more powerful unit testing framework (SimpleTest for those who are curious) and wrote over one hundred new tests. The new framework and tests allow us to release code more rapidly, because testing lots of functionality is now done quickly and automatically. This translates into better stability, fewer bugs, and more features, so stay tuned!

We just released some new notification options! You can now get email notifications when you receive new messages or comments!

We've also added the ability to view your sent messages and enhanced the reply-to-message page so that the message you're replying to is displayed. Let us know what you think!

We just received our first shipment of professionally-made Pedal Room stickers! We're pretty happy with them - super cheap yet made of outdoor-quality vinyl.
