SE Antonov is a Ukrainian state-owned enterprise whose main area of activity is air cargo transportation, as well as the development, production and repair of An-series aircraft. Over the years, Antonov ANTC was engaged not only in work on the main topics, but also in non-core products. The most notable works in this direction were developments in the field of ground transportation, and a group of factory specialists worked on the development of perspective carbon fiber bicycle frames. In 1996, Ukrainian track cyclists won the World Championship gold in the team pursuit on track bikes with the development frames of ANTK. Antonov-boys not only created a frame with a fork, revolutionary at that time, but also developed carbon-blade wheels. The new product turned out to be undeniably successful, which was noted by all the athletes who tested their bikes. The frame and front fork of the bike are made of carbon by vacuum molding. The seat post is integrated into the frame. Wheel hubs and steering cups were made of duralumin. Piece production was mastered and there was a steady demand for framesets, both in the territory of the former USSR and far beyond its borders. A lot of brilliant victories were won on Eney bikes, including the 1996 World Championship gold medal in the pursuit and silver in 1997! However, at the same 1997, the UCI banned use of frames that do not consist of two closed triangles in racing.
After the UCI banned use of Eney, appeared the Elin model - this is the second successful development of the Kiev designers Ivan Lipa and Sergey Nitka, who managed not only to come up with these frames, but also organized their small-scale production at ANTK Antonov. On the “Elin” bikes, the Ukrainian national team athletes won the 1998 World Cup gold and silver with bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
