Hello.
Today's product is a trackframe from Italian manufacturer BASSO, which has been making its own frame for 40 years since 1977.
Especially, the product I'm going to show you today is the mid- to early '80s, when BASSO's technology was at its peak.
And the Tubing is the 'air' tubing, which is a little unfamiliar to many of you!
'air' tubing was born in the early '80s, when the golden age of various Chromoly frames, to the needs of players who wanted faster and sleeker frames.
The down tube, the seatube, and even the seatstay are shaped like drops of water, or Teardrap.
In fact, the tt players who used it showed a good response.
But was it too much? According to players' feedback, the lack of stiffness in the back triangle of the frame was dominant.
So we could improve it by using the same level of tubing 'SL'.
But perhaps it was too early for us to think that the time is right now, and 'air' tubing is buried in the back page of history...
It's not that far back in 2010, when the dust accumulates in the warehouse, it's coming back with the trend of classic bicycles.
Collectors were looking at a catalog of past frameworks, and they saw a strangely thick tuning picture, like the current aerobike.
As this becomes a word of mouth, the frames using 'air' tubing slowly begin to appear.
Chinelli laser, takhion... that makes you stand up for it, etc.
Especially, it was hard to find track frames. It was a natural result because it was Tubing for TT.
