Hey all,
Bought a pair of black Sram Omniums sometime in 2013. Looking to trade rather than sell. They are 165mm and looking for 170mm arms if anyone is interested. Don't care what color they are I just need the arms in a longer length. If you're local in the NYC area we can meet or we can do a shipment in the U.S. only.
Thanks

I have a pair of 170's, silver with black ring. fairly new/used
Down to trade for the 165 set? My set is is solid condition. Any pictures?
any advantages in going from 165 to 170? just curious
While some say you don't notice the 5mm difference I do. I used to run 170's but then i stripped the thread on the driveside which led me to getting a 165 set to try out. I get more cadence with the 165 and climbing is a bit easier I feel. I just got my stripped Omniums helicoiled and it's good but not the greatest job done and that's one of the reasons why i'm looking into a 170 set. Secondly I like more of an extension in my leg while on the 170's where the 165's don't provide, I also run a higher seat. I'm currently on my 170 set now and rode on them over the past few days and I've noticed differences after about 10 minutes of riding them. They feel better for me but everyone is different, much of it is based on inseam and height as well.
Longer crank arms gives you more torque if you are tall enough. Small people will use smaller crank arms.
Most people will run 165mm crank arms on a track bike they use on the street because that helps a lot with toe overlap and pedal strike.

confirming my use of 165's for reducing toe lap. but i am a tall guy and enjoyed all pairs of 170's i've had because of the added leverage available.
noticed quickly i could spin these faster with less knee bend which is nice. not that it's that much of a difference but i think noticeable.

Do you still have the cranks, if so are you willing to sell?
Thanks!
Thanks!
