Pulled this bike out of the basement. It has not been used since 1994. Bike was originally built by the mechanic I apprenticed under, who sold it to my father. He was the one who removed the original Gardin stickers and threw touch-up paint and black spray paint at for that 90's look. It may look like it is in bad shape in the photos, but the frame is in perfect condition it is merely the combination of spray paint and touch-up paint. Unfortunately the Columbus sticker is missing but it is a SL or Matrix frame. Gipiemme dropouts. If you hate the paint job $200 will get you a new paint job. I think it looks pretty good up close and it never hurts to have your bike "look" beat up.
Just completed full rebuild with vintage Campagnolo Chorus Syncros (first generation index shifting), chorus 8 Spd cassette, chorus hubs laced to mavic open 4 cd rims, 3ttt bars, cinelli stem, and modolo equipe brake set, chorus headset and bb. Vintage Michelin slicks. These were all original on the bike, except I swapped the Chorus callipers for Modolo Equipe, to be consistent with the brake levers. I will switch back the campy brakes for an additional $100.
This bike was mechanic built for recreational use in 1990. The wheels were hand built with DT Swiss spokes. Originally packed with Campagnolo grease, repacked with same grease again. Wheels are true.
Pedals shown not included, will sell with vintage white shimano Look-style pedals, with never used cleats.
$750 negotiable, obo.
Will also sell campagnolo groupset and wheels separately. Will sell frame alone for $350 obo.
I'm not entirely sure what the value is so make an offer.
will also consider trades for road and cyclocross.
Will ship to Canada and U.S. on buyer's dime.
Location is Toronto, Canada
