How about instead of buying frames you'll ruin by street-riding, you donate some money to your ailing country
I really don't get why people get all bent out of shape about riding extremely nice track bikes on the road, when road bikes that are ridden on the street are easily above 7000 dollars.
Carbon road bikes are designed for use on the road, different stress points being the main issue. But, that's just for carbon track bikes like Look 496s, etc.
Bikes are meant to be ridden.
All in all the fun of riding fixed is taking something unconventional and making it conventional, i'm not saying run all carbon track frames with huge gear ratios but if you want to run a Japanese track frame on the road no harm, it is steel after all.
Rico actually tracks pretty seriously though. I'm sure he will put them to good use.
I have no doubt that he 'tracks hard', but that doesn't have anything to do with riding $5,000 carbon frames on the street.
To each his own, let the him ride what he wants.
