The 36/36 Scrambler and its sibling the Mag Scrambler were Schwinn's first BMX bikes that resembled what we associate BMX bikes looking like, but in true Schwinn fashion they were cobbled together from parts off of the Stingray and other Schwinn models.
Frame:
Steel tubing with flash welded (or "electro-forged" as it was known) bottom bracket/chainstay assembly and the rest of the tubes hand brazed together.
Fork/Headset:
Ashtabula built forged steel fork, steel headset (Wald?)
Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Ashtabula built one piece crank with 6 1/2" arms. Steel bottom bracket

Schwinn Approved steel rat trap
Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
Single speed drivetrain, steel 39T Schwinn chainring, replacement chain

Saddle/Seatpost:
Schwinn approved Messinger (?) seat

Coaster brake
Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Schwinn S-2 rim, Schwinn approved steel large flange 36 spoke hub, replacement Kenda BMX tire
Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Schwinn S-2 rim, Bendix 76 steel coaster brake 36 spoke hub, Kenda BMX tire

This is a $9 thrift store find. When I got it it was painted rattle can blue from top to bottom for some reason, so this picture is right after I stripped most of this off with laquer thinner and discovered it was in fact a chrome frame.
