1980s Bianchi Beater

This is my beater/rain/camping bike. I bought the frame cheap and built it up with parts I had. I cleaned up the rust on the frame and rattle canned it. This originally was just going to be for camping and the occasional slow roll, but I have shown up on some fast group rides on it. This thing rolls really well and there is nothing like kicking some carbon ass on a flat bar 1x9 steel bike with 32c tires, fenders, a basket, and kickstand!

great work; looks really nice, but when you say $100 total build, that seems impossible because " . . . parts lying around" had cost you money @ some point

Sort of... They were parts pulled from other bikes. They essentially had no real value, because the parts weren't worth much and not worth my time to sell them via eBay or Craigslist.

Sounds just like me and my Strada. Got the frame super cheap, Threw it together with knobbys and downtubes for gravel . Riding it till the wheels fall off! Nice build.
