This is just about proof that anything will look good with a matching ZIPP wheelset.

Why did you bother switching everything up when you're getting an SL4 in 10 days? Looks great though!
Also, Hi from Reddit.

doesn 10sp chain really behave correctly when shifting ? any problems at all ? seems like you have a good ole' freewheel in theback.......
Posted over 10 years ago
No problems at all. I did get the chain stuck between the chainrings once when I forced it there, but thats about it.
Posted over 10 years ago
and are you running index or friction ? i'm asking because running a 6sp (regina) FW with a mere 8sp chain and there are some bad surprises in the middle of shifting sometimes. the chain will just sit for a few seconds in between the cogs and not engage on the FW's teeth.....

YAAAAAAAAS!
what brake lever are those? oem dura ace 7400/1?
Posted almost 11 years ago
yeah thats what i ment.
are you planning on keeping it on? or going to replace it?
Posted almost 11 years ago
Well the only levers I would really wanna replace them with are SRAM levers, and that isn't gonna be pretty on this build. So the closest thing to replacement I'm gonna do is replacing the hoods cause the right one is seriously messed up.
Posted almost 11 years ago
And honestly, being on the hoods is really uncomfy with these levers so I'm in the drops most of the time.
Posted almost 11 years ago
i see, well you can try to get the trp rrl levers, im pretty sure itll still look good with the sram levers
Posted almost 11 years ago
Not really liking the dramatic kink on those TRP levers. SRAM would be too modern I think...
Posted almost 11 years ago
If being in the hoods hurts, get new bars. Traditional drops suck almost universally, afaic. Get some compacts, ZIpp Service Course SS or Nitto M186 or something like that.
Posted almost 11 years ago
Honestly the lever shape just sucks cause I had compact bars on before and same amount of uncomfy. But hey it looks nice and being in the drops isn't that low anyway.

Nice build! Well balanced look.
you need a stepped ferrule like this one for such a rear derailleur cable stop. http://wheelsmfg.com/media/catalog/prod... makes for a better cable routing.

Thanks! The bike originally came with a nipple in place of that and I guess it loosened itself off.

ooooh crispy. Really well curated build. Congrats on the feature, definitely well-deserved. Built up all at once or over time?
Posted almost 11 years ago
Bought it mostly like this. Changed tires, added my brakes and saddle, bought new bars and stem.

No disrespect to Paristicker's Allez, which is also beautiful for different reasons, but this red number right here takes the cake. Just beautiful.
