1998 Ibis Spanky

I had been looking for a unique steel bike/frameset for about a year or two. I thought I had found it, but my de bernardi turned out to be too big. I was on the hunt again. I saw this on craigslist and let it sit for about a week or two because I knew no one would buy it. Before I got it I kept scheming upgrades for it, but the first time I rode it at the guy's house, I just fell in love and am not going to change anything for a while.

SO beautiful, really. 6700? That should be something! Why not Campy? I'm already surprisingly pretty deep into acquiring a 7700 group for my Klein, with crankset, brake calipers, RD and shifters for around not as many bones as you'd think.

Campy would take ages/$$$ to acquire. Everything(mostly) on this bike is shimano. Ultegra Headset, Ultegra Bottom Bracket, Dura ace Cranks, Dura ace hubs. Going for new 6700 would mean all I would be purchasing would be the shiters as 9 speed derailleurs work fine in 10 speed. With campy, I'd have to buy basically a new group. I have a 9 speed record group, But then I wouldn't really be upgrading, would I? Besides the camp change.
