I'm mid-conversion on my 2001 P2K, just wondering if you had any trouble with the set screws in the drop outs? I have and I'm hoping to avoid needing to use them at all.

i didn't use them but i did leave them in and they didn't cause any problems. they were set in enough for me to be able to slip the chain on over the chainring and cog and pull tight, but i kind of figured that if the axle were to slip, it would prevent something bad from happening. the rear clearance to the seat tube was very tight. good luck on your conversion!

un-convert it and lose the aerojoke

i prefer the feel of a fixed drivetrain. i have a 2008 scott addict if i ever need gears. looking for a good deal on a HED3 to replace the aerojoke. actually what i really want to do is get a HED3 rear and couple that with a HED Alps front that i've got on the side.

Nice looking bike, is your seatpost backwards though? Also, I think you should either slam your stem or, if you don't like the amount of saddle to bar drop, get something like bullhorns. And what were your thoughts on wheels? I think some Mavic Ellipses or some Profile hubs to Mavic Open Pros would look very, very nice.

thanks for your comment! the seat post is sort of backwards. it was designed to accommodate 2 positions which changed the seat tube angle between 75 and 78 degrees. as a wannabe triathlete, i opted for the latter. unfortunately i think it looks awful, but i'll let function dictate this one. the stem was set up that way because I needed more height out of the front end. again, i know it isn't the coolest looking, but it brought my position to where it needed to be. i'm thinking about going with an aero cockpit instead of the drops. as for the wheels, i really want a HED3 rear to go with the HED alps front that i've got on the side.

If you go the aerobar route, I'd suggest something like the Syntace Stratos (which I've heard good things about) or the Nitto RB-021 (which I've ridden and enjoyed a lot). Also, a HED 3 would look amazing on it. You could try finding one from back when they were made by Specialized if you don't want to spend 800 dollars on a new one. Make sure to post some pictures when you get those parts!

thanks for the tips i will look into those. i had a couple in mind too which were the vision UCI legal base bar (i think the others are all 26.0) to go with my vision aero bars which i already have, or a HED cockpit but that's a lot of money. im on ebay everyday looking for a HED3 heh. i honestly can't wait to post new pics as i'm not happy with how it looks at the moment. i may just go with a deep black rim in the back temporarily because the silver really doesn't fly. i'm also debating putting on my Adamo Racing 2 saddle in place of the SMP Pro.

Hey, how do you like your Adamo saddle? What's your opinion on how it feels and etc?

ourru says:
They are great saddles very supportive and comfortable but you may need to give it some time to get used to since they're much wider than your typical saddle
