How do those Speedmax hold up on the street? I'm looking for a good set of on-road tires that I can occationally go off the path. Do you recommend the speedmax?

speedmax are very nice on the street and trail. hold up great. they're actually on my *real* cross bike now but I don't have good pictures of that yet so I haven't posted it.

Ouroboros is an awesome "brand" for this bike. It's hella cool, especially for a beater/commuter bike!

Sweet ride, how does this frame feel on the road? I always think about investing in a nashbar frame for a cyclecross project.

honestly it doesn't feel that great. with 35mm tires, it feels nice and i'd say the handling and turning of the frame are nice. it feels very balanced. but that's where the positives stop. it's a great bike for 99 dollars, but it isn't as good as a bike ten times the cost, and it's only a value because it's so cheap.

oh, and put 23c's on it and you'll knock a filling loose.

also, cheap or not it's got great geo and handling. i have a nicer cross bike now but this has fenders and mtb drivetrain and it makes a sweet commuter. even with the harsh and buzzy feel of the frame on skinny tires, i enjoy it.
