More Info:
I raced this a few weeks into ownership on the 24 hour round the clock spokane 2013 ride. in that 24 hour period i put 90 miles on it and worked toward a 11.7 mph average with my team. i thoroughly ruined the x5 rear derailleur on the abrupt hill climb gear changes and rough rocky bumps of some of the gnarlier singletrack the course had to offer... and other than the cheap sram/rockshox stuff on it(which can easily and cheaply be replaced by any competent mechanic) this bike is very very fun, fast, and capable. I was never finding myself unsure of the bike's abilities and it always seemed to return a good amount of "go" for the "oomf" i was putting into it. Kudos Kona. Now, about that X9...
