They look similar, but judging by numbers ungraved a the seattube's top, mine has been build in september 1983. I looked at vintage Bianchi brochures and on these frame built between 1981 and 1984 look very close.

Clearly not the same frame. The VS one has polished seatstay caps, while this one has painted caps. Also, tubing decal placement is different, and neither of them look like a re-paint job.

By the number, I would think it was an 83, with the first number before the decimal being indicative of the manufacturing year. That's what my research into my own has led me to believe in reference to serial #'s. Sure looks like an 83:

But it looks like the seat stay caps should be polished. Also, very odd placement of the Piaggio decal. It's all a crapshoot I guess. Nice ride.
