Was planning on buying this exact frameset when I found a complete bike locally for the same price via Craigslist. Granted, it was a hideous build, but I've fixed that aspect. This one is just about finished. Last thing I'd like to do is relace the rear wheel to use the factory Shamal bladed spokes.

you know what man? i hate this certain year vigo's color scheme but god your build is fucking ridiculously awesome man! huge props!

brilliant build, man. the silver TRP levers are a nice touch to an already great bike.

Awesome, awesome, AWESOMEEE !! That only think i would change is the brake levers to some Campagnolo Carbon Aero Single Speed Brake Levers.

Love your vigo ;) looks nice with all those chrome parts really classy

like the look of a modern frame with the classic older parts. best vigorelli i've ever seen!
Posted about 12 years ago
My favorite Vigorelli, probably the only Cinelli frame I want to build up. This thing is epic.

Personally think that this is the best vigor build on PR! Very classy..
About the road/mtb clipless, i prefer road pedals, gives you better power transfer (IMO) but if you use this bike on daily basis, i think mtb pedals suits you better because the shoes allow you to walk normally.. And some mtb cleat shoes like Chrome or DZR offered sneakers-styled shoe.. Just my 2 cents :)

I'm thinking of doing both. This is my daily commuter bike and I think some DZR/MTB shoe/pedal combo would work well for my errands. Then on weekends a set of road pedals and Sidi's would be a great way to ride longer distances. Thanks for the kudos on the build. I love this damn thing.

too nice bro, really love it

I do get paranoid when I lock it, bu it's too fun not to ride everywhere. Why build a bike that doesn't see hundreds of miles of pavement per month?
Posted over 12 years ago
Wonderful Build... I would recommend trying a solid touring shoe and a road pedal that uses a MTB cleat like the Shimano A600 pedals. I have both. The Shimano RT82 shoes which are a hybrid type and they are awesome. More walkable than a Road shoe and more appropriate for a bike that sees pavement for 99% of the time.

Nice. I'm looking into getting both road and MTB pedals and swapping them out depending on my needs for the day. Can't wait to try this thing with clipless for the first time.

nice build!
and nice wheelset!
Posted over 12 years ago
Thank you. I think the shamals are one of the best looking wheels out there.

Thanks for posting to r/fixedgearbicycle mate, this is classy as fuck.

this looks so much better with the drops. its cool to see this frame built with all silver.
Posted over 12 years ago
damn sweet, love the shamals!
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks. I think all the vintage Campy stuff really makes my bike.

Nice wheelset! I'm jelly. The only thing I hate about vigs is that damn sloping top tube.
Posted almost 13 years ago
I didn't even notice it was sloping for the first 3 months I had it. It's not much of an issue for me. I love these wheels; they really make the bike.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Its not even sloped that much. The smaller sizes are sloped for sure. I have a 54cm and compared to my road bike with compact geo the Vig has no slope lol

Nicely Done Brotha!!

Thanks. I LOVE the pedals/clips on your Vig. Where did you find those? I'm on the hunt for a Campy Delta front brake, and I'm about to ditch the Cinelli stem and seatpost in favor of silver Thomson pieces.

Sweet bike!!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Thanks. Yours inspired me to add a front brake lever and caliper. Already had the lever, need to get a caliper.
Posted almost 13 years ago
i see the front brake is fully installed now. really wish i had some campy shamals!

how much was the Phil Wood lf hub? And did you buy new bladed spokes?
Posted almost 13 years ago
The hub was near $320 and unfortunately the shop did not use bladed spokes or have the hub face machined properly to allow the use of them. It bugs me and I might send the hub back for re-machining to use the bladed spokes.
Posted almost 13 years ago
do you mean hub slotting? You can run bladed spokes without a slotted hub, like the DT Aerolites aren't designed for a slotted hub but are bladed.

Oh man that looks nice!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Those blue Pake cranks were really bringing my bike down. Thanks for the kudos.
Posted almost 13 years ago
nice looking bike, I really want to see it with the rear Shamal and Campy cranks. Have you thought about changing the saddle? I doesn't look great IMO, but whatever works for you. I think a ti Flite or a Concor would look great on it.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Just snapped a quick few pics of the rear wheel. The campy cranks go on in the morning with a new chain (that blue and white setup was really getting to me) and I've often thought about changing the saddle and seat post to one that looks and feels better to ride on.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Just saw it with the rear wheel, it looks amazing! Can't wait to see those cranks. And go for a Campy Aero seatpost, those things are awesome!
Posted almost 13 years ago
yeah you have two sweet bikes!
Posted about 13 years ago
Back down to just this one. Sold the Bianchi last week and now I have a pile of awesome parts awaiting installation. Can't wait to get rid of those blue cranks and that white chain.
Posted about 13 years ago
It's a great looking frame. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
