Current Stage Info:

After realizing this bike needed a good overhaul, I slowly acquired the parts to build it up as a proper road bike. I did try to strip the paint (as it wasn't nice to begin with) but it didn't want to come off. I might eventually get it painted, but for now, I kind of like the look.

The single speed setup not very nice but the Sram build is awesome

Ha, yeah the single speed was literally "what do I have to build this thing up... LETS DO IT!"... but thank you, I really do love the way it turned out!

What I love about this is the really beat up frame and put a spin on modern parts. FTW

So when are we going to see the full photo, in colour?? I'm looking to build the same on the cheap C-dale 3.0, Sram Rival/Force. I joined up just to hassle you....

HAhaHa... I should have ridden the Cannondale today and snapped some photos, but I finally got a chance to ride the Motobecane. I'll make sure to get some good photos this week!

Nice one! Didn't realise the frame was that beat up, I like it. Proper parts mash up too.

I found some previous photos of when I got it... The paint wasn't nice to begin with. Hopefully I'll come across a painter one day that I can get a few of my bikes done up.

Carbon woundup? ;) Are you going threaded or a threadless cockpit?

Posted almost 13 years ago

Lilcphoto

Lilcphoto says:

Yeah, sure...I would LOVE a woundup... but I doubt I'll find one without paying a lot more than this bike is worth. I am going threadless, though I am not sure if I will stick with a 1" to 25.4 bars or go with a shim and throw some 31.8 bars to match the more beefy frame

Benson

Benson says:

Well since its the threadless route I would recommend using them 31.8 compact bars!
